About Gelatin vs. Vegetarian capsules

Modifilan is available in either gelatin or vegetarian capsules. There is no difference between these two options in terms of pricing and packaging.

However, we strongly recommend taking our product in gelatin capsules. Only a vegan person can find “vege-caps” useful. It is true that “vege-caps” dissolve in water, but this is just a marketing trick – they do not dissolve in acid, and instantly
coagulate, capturing food in them. Our stomach is filled with acid.

Gelatin capsules dissolve in the stomach. This permits the product they contain to stay longer in the active gastro-intestinal tract, to be better processed and to deliver their full spectrum of mineral properties.

Vegetarian capsules lack naturally occurring protein. As a result, the stomach does not recognize a vegetarian capsule as food, so the capsule only dissolves in bile, in the lower GI tract.

If you are reluctant to use gelatin capsules for your own specific reasons, please consider ordering our products in vegetarian capsules (V-cap? is kosher product of Capsugel?). Please indicate this when you buy Modifilan from your distributor; most will have vege-caps in stock or will be able to special-order them for you.

Notes: Vegetarian capsules are not made of vegetable oil, and most of them have nothing to do with vegetables. The majority of vegetarian capsules are made of pine tree (bark) gum ? a very foreign substance which cannot be called food by any standard. And these days, “vege-caps” are cheaper than gelatin capsules. This attracts manufacturers more than anything else, when it comes to vegetarian capsules. Please, note that.

People with poor health can only depend on the effectiveness of food supplements when they are encapsulated in gelatin capsules. Also remember that you can always open capsules and take our products in powder form, mixed with water, juice, or any other moist food.

Again, if you are not vegan, please avoid using Modifilan in “vege-caps”.
